Beyond design, the focus was on building community. I developed campaigns for cultural programming, designed visuals for events, and highlighted collaborations with local artists, makers, and small businesses. These efforts helped Artthaus feel less like a real estate project and more like a place where people could connect and create.

Through forums, exhibitions, and shared events, we built meaningful ties with Oakland’s creative scene and the wider Bay Area. Tenants and artists* naturally became advocates for the space, sharing their work and experiences in ways that extended Artthaus’ presence beyond its walls. It was a simple but effective approach: by giving the community a platform, the brand grew with them.

*Flagship collaborations with Alison Hueman and Charlie Edmiston turned Artthaus into a recognizable cultural landmark, setting the tone for makers, creators, and small businesses to follow.
